Meaning
·     The meaning behind this video is that everyone is beautiful and equal in this world. The differences that people have are accepted and make them beautiful and unique. Within this music video, equality is being portrayed, i know this because there is a wide range of people included who are from different cultures and have their own individual talent. At the end of the music video, there is a sign on a wall that says 'beautiful people', this is there to remind people of the message that everyone is beautiful and that he has made his statement throughout the music video. Even though the music video takes a light hearted approach to spreading their message, it still reminds the viewers about what the overall focus is.

·         Random shots, i.e. the car scene (turning lights off and on), unexpected beauty is signified from the random acts and messing around

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BrBoUl2eV74

Elements of the original music video are adapted in the live performance including the following features:

·
·         Use of bright colors maintained in Live Performance
·         The dancing and entertainment used once again
·         Dark atmosphere
·         Colors of black and white used with neon lights
·         Chris is wearing white with neon lights and backing dancers are wearing black with neon lights. This creates a contrast and allows Chris brown to stand out from the rest of the dancers.
·         The neon lights change to different colors ranging from white, yellow, blue, orange and so on.
·         Difference to the original music video is the main concentration is of Chris brown and two other dancers.
·         Use of stairs to change and switch dancers with different types of neon lights on them.
·         Clothing of backing dancers are the same colors showing equality which is one of the main concepts in the song that lead to the main message of being beautiful.

Our intial concept

Our overall concept

We then moved onto selecting our final choice which is Chris brown beautiful and brainstormed some ideas on what to include within our own music video production and these were some of the ideas we decided on:

Audience

We aimed a music video at children, teenagers and young adults. Our music video does not contain any footage that would affect children. Our aim is for our music video to give off a feel good mood. We wanted it to be full of people having fun and showing of their talents. We intended to show our audience that everyone is beautiful in their own individual way.

Teams Roles and Responsibilities

Zahra - Timeline Diary, Analyze Lyrics, Risk Assessment

Sonbul - Props, Costumes, Locations

Bahno - Shooting Script, Mood Board

Sahedul - Story-board, Word-board

I have adapted some of the tasks that have been completed by my production group.

Mood Board

My individual mood board

I decided to do my own version of a mood board for our music video production. My mood board focuses individuals having fun at something they love doing. I incorporated the word beautiful into my mood board as having fun and showing of your talent is a way of showing your own beauty.

Risk Assessment

Story board

Bahno is in the Ikea car park lift. She is pressing all the lift buttons so that they all light up. This is used
as a countdown to when the music video kicks in.

This footage was filmed on top floor of Odeon’s car park. We wanted to film a landscape shot of Coventry town centre.

We got someone to sit in an Ikea trolley with the camera. We pushed the trolley around and filmed a handheld shot. This shot shows individuals having fun.

This shot was filmed in Coventry town centre. We wanted to show that all living things are beautiful.

This shot was filmed in Coventry town centre. The young boy in the print screen runs from post to post showing that he is having fun.

We found some young boys in Coventry town centre doing some tricks on their scooters showing of their talents and having fun.

This shot was filmed in Coventry town centre.  The show was filmed on a moving escalator. Our idea was to show a range of people doing their own thing. And that everyone is beautiful.

We found some Coventry University students doing tricks on their skateboards showing of their talent. They are also having fun while doing the tricks.

We found some more students from Coventry University showing of their tricks and talent on their skateboards.

We found a young boy from Sidney Stringer Academy who mined some of the lyrics from the song. He added emotion and his individual flare to the music video.

 Locations

 Sidney Stringer Academy

One of the areas we decided to record in was in School, this being that many individuals in school represented beauty and we wanted to show a wide range of individuals. Using our school was a great way to show different ethnic backgrounds and equality. In addition to this was a great method including the talents of individuals.

Coventry University

We decided to record in the Town, this including Coventry University as many students were going to be there. This allows more individuals to be included within our music video. We aimed the university as we wanted diversity in the people we gained this increasing the older and younger generation within our video.

Ikea

IKEA Car Park was selected to include the elements for everywhere I go; this shows a recording around the area in town to symbolize the area for the surroundings. We also recorded the lift, this including the inside of the elevator and the buttons to symbolize a countdown to the music video.

Production schedule for filming and editing

15th January 2013
We all went to Coventry University to find students we could feature in our music video. However, most students were still on their Christmas holiday break. We went back to our school (Sidney Stringer Academy) and found some students that we could take photos off.
22nd January 2013
We split up into pairs. Sahedul and I went around taking still pictures of students and teachers doing random poses in different locations. Bahno and Sonbul went back to Coventry University; they found students who would happily feature in our music video. The students mimed ‘beautiful people’.
29th January 2013
I and Sonbul went around the school to find students and teachers who would say ‘beautiful people’. We also found a student who mimed some of the lyrics from the song. Sahedul and Bahno were not available.
5th February 2013
As a group we filmed students outside playing and dancing in the snow. We also filmed Sonbul walking on the wall and steps.

As a group we sat together and continued editing our music video.
16th March 2013
Bahno and Sonbul went out around Coventry town centre and filmed random shots of people doing tricks near Coventry University, Lady Herbert’s garden and Ikea. They also went on to the top floor of Odeon cinema and took a landscape shot of the town centre.
19th March 2013
As a group we sat together and continued editing our music video.
26th March 2013
Our music video was complete and we handed it in to our teacher. The music video was played in front of our media class, so that we could get constructive criticism and find out if they enjoyed watching it.

Equipment

We didn’t need much equipment for our music video. All we needed was a camera and a tripod.              The concept of our music video was to use random shots and for it to flow naturally.

Analysis of lyrics ‘Chris Brown – Beautiful People’
"Beautiful People"
(with Benny Benassi)

Everywhere Chris Brown goes he sees beautiful people. He sees everyone as equal and is beautiful in their own way.

It’s never too late to follow your dreams. You can start today.

Everywhere, everywhere
Everywhere I go
Everywhere that I’ve been
The only thing I see is
Is beautiful people

Beautiful people
Beautiful people
Beautiful people

You’re beautiful don’t you know

(Everyone is beautiful; however, they may not know it. He is reminding people that they are beautiful.)

Don’t you know don’t you know
Beautiful don’t you know know know

Live your life live your life
Let the love inside

Everyone should live their life to the fullest. They should release the love inside of them. It is their own life and they have the control of making the most of it.

It’s your life, it’s your life
Got to let it ride

You have all the time you want. There is no rush. Your beauty is not just on the outside but it is on the inside too. Don’t let others tell you that you’re not beautiful as if it’s not on the outside it is on the inside.

Take your time take your time
Take your sexy time
Don't lose your head lose your head
Your beauty's deep inside.

Inside you.
Don't let 'em bring you down, no!
Your beauty is inside... you.

Don't let 'em bring you down, no!
Your beautys inside you

Print screen of editing

To cut to the beat in the music video our group decided to put a effect called 'Procamp' and then we added key frames on to certains beats  to match it.

The group added some tranistion on to each of the clips such as 'addictive disolve' and other transitions.

We included clips of individuals miming. We imported the clips aligned with the particular lyrics on the song.
